In 2020, the Pig Jig was cancelled due to Covid-19 but is returning for 2021. In 2019 with even greater support from the community we raised $350,000 all benefiting NephCure Kidney International. That first event was a huge success and together we raised over $250,000. The Silicon Valley Pig Jig was started in San Jose in 2018 by a group of local and dedicated friends who wanted to make a difference in the lives of those that suffer from Nephrotic Syndrome. In addition, corporate sponsors participate in a friendly amateur BBQ competition where they will have a chance to win accolades and bragging rights in four categories (ribs, tri-tip, wildcard and best tailgate)! All proceeds benefit NephCure Kidney International whose mission is to accelerate research for effective treatments for rare forms of Nephrotic Syndrome, and to provide education and support that will improve the lives of those affected by these protein-spilling kidney diseases.
